Give you students a whole new meaning to measurement by having a “famous” person from your school or community trace the outline of his or her foot onto a piece of cardboard. During math center time students can take turns measuring items in the classroom. Compile their measurements on chart paper, do a follow-up activity where students use their own footprints and compare the data.

My kids loved this activity. We used our principal’s and assistant principal’s footprints as well as our our own and had a blast measuring everything in the classroom.
