To send in an accurate lunch count, I have a chart hanging on my door. Before students enter the classroom, they move their Popsicle stick that is stuck to the chart with Velcro under the absent names section to either hot or cold lunch. This way I not only know who is absent that day, but also get an accurate lunch count.
